Fragrance Shop Head Office
When the Fragrance Shop took the decision to consolidate their disparate workforce into a central head office in Trafford Park, world renowned architects Sheila Bird Studio where commissioned to transform the former industrial unit into a special working environment, whilst design and build specialists, Amspec, where appointed to bring this vision to life.
Amspec, in turn, appointed Harled to manage the lighting design across the vast commercial space, spanning some 90,000 square feet, over three floors.
The design and layout of the site saw multiple departments and teams strategically scattered across the offices with a full-height atrium at the centre, providing a vibrant and inviting open central hub, also capable of hosting company-wide gatherings and events. Other areas of focus includes a gym, catering area, breakout areas and external spaces.

The new offices own a highly modern aesthetic, each space required its own identity, and careful and considered lighting design was critical. Cultivating a warm aspect sat at the heart of the brief and was achieved through the use of linear lighting, a highly flexible solution where each fixture is able to create a specific ambiance or highlight a certain feature within the space. Acoustic sound barriers where introduced throughout - crafted as circular domes, the lighting mirrored the shapes, combining functionality and illumination through clever design.
The space is finished in dark, muted tones with pops of warmth, including soft furnishings, to create a more intimate feeling inside such a large open area. Harled worked collaboratively with Shelia Bird Studio and Amspec during each stage from early concept through to delivery to realise the desired end result and outcome.
